SONOTOMIA

An innovative European project that seamlessly integrates the intangible and tangible aspects of cultural heritage. This project uniquely links music, biodiversity, historical sites, and buildings to the realm of sound. Sound, as a potent tool, serves to bridge the past with the future, mirroring the role of cultural heritage itself. The intrinsic values and distinctive attributes of our shared cultural heritage can be encapsulated and conveyed through the medium of sound.

Given the versatility and ubiquity of sounds, this project's core focus revolves around the compelling idea of promoting and disseminating cultural artifacts through the capture and transformation of sound elements. Through this approach, heritage can be both preserved and sustained, using sounds to inspire future generations to appreciate and cherish their environment and the people within it.

In my capacity within the Sonotomia project, I was tasked with educating and delivering lectures to visiting composers on the intricacies of the 4DSOUND system. Additionally, I crafted a musical composition that encapsulates the essence of the local cultural heritage, as captured through sound.

RESIDENCY 2.0

During our visit to Albarracín, we uncovered the true magnificence of this exceptional location. Albarracín stands out as one of the most stunning medieval cities in Spain that has endured through time. Therefore, it is crucial to preserve this cultural richness, particularly in an era when tourism can compromise the authenticity of such places. Sound plays a significant role in the cultural heritage, as the everyday noises we often overlook are precisely what breathe life into a place. Through our exhibition during this project, we aimed to raise awareness about the presence of these local sounds.
